Who are we? A group of cyclists from the South Birmingham, Warwickshire, Worcestershire area that enjoys riding together.
What do we do? Rides on Saturdays, Sundays & Wednesdays, together with some weekends and holidays abroad.
How are the rides organised? Each ride is led by the "Captain" for the day, who has planned the route to take into account the variable weather, possible mechanical issues and to make sure we get to the lunch stop at the right time - allowing the other riders not to have to think where they are going!!
We usually have 12-20 riders on a run, at an appropriate pace for the group. The rides have breaks for 11s and lunch. The distances covered vary - see the RIDES section for details.
All rides are at a pace that will be appropriate to the group, the rides mostly follow quiet lanes through the countryside and are suitable for most types of bicycle.
New riders are welcome* - just come along!
Details of all rides are in the Events Calendar on the right hand side of the Home page (with dates, times, start venue, destination etc)
* New/guest riders are welcome to come along on up to TWO rides before they need to become members of Heart of England Cycling Club. New/guest riders must have third-party insurance cover, must provide the the Ride Leader with their own mobile number and also that of an emergency contact, before the ride starts. The membership year runs from 1 January to 31 December. All Riders/Members must be over 18 years old.
