This is a TWO DAY tour ride - riding 45-50 miles to the accommodation, staying overnight and then 45-50 miles back to the start.
 
The plan:  On Wednesday 21 September drive to Market Harborough - park (free overnight), cycle with your luggage to the overnight accommodation near Grantham, via Melton Mowbray - stay overnight at a country pub - cycle via Rutland Water back to Market Harborough and drive home.  Each day's ride is about 47 miles, with no outrageous hills.  
 
The pub is at Croxton and I have booked all 7 of the rooms -  a mix of 1 single, 3 twin, 3 double - on a bed & breakfast basis the average per person, in a shared room, is about £40.  Food is at reasonable pub prices - we will implement the brown purse for food and beverages.   www.thegeeseandfountain.co.uk
 
 
20 August 2022 - one of the party has had to withdraw, thus we have a vacancy for a MALE in a shared room - please contact Rob Gullen if you are interested.
 
16 June 22 - the tour is now fully booked.   If there is sufficient interest another tour could be run in early 2023.
 
6 June 22 - there is one space for a female to share a twin-room - all other rooms are committed with deposits paid.  Further details and routes etc will be distributed in late August.
 
17 May 22 - people that have expressed an interest, in the order of replying and to the possible maximum number have been emailed to seek confirmation, or not - with a deadline of 30 May 2022.  If further places are then available the next people that expressed an interest will be emailed, on the same basis.
 
In order to confirm a place there is a deposit payable of £25 per person - this is non-refundable but transferable (with the same room share type) payable when all the riders and room allocations are confirmed by 21 June 2022 (by bank transfer to the account that's used for our overseas tours)
 
24 April 22 - as at today there are expressions of interest from about 15 members. Over the next couple of weeks I'll do some more research on suitable accommodation (ideally a pub with rooms, subject to numbers) and get a costed plan together. We would need to confirm bookings, with a deposit payment.  It is expected that numbers will be limited by accommodation availability to about 12 (with a mix of double, twin & single rooms)
