27th February 2019 Ride to Claines

For the second time running I was going to ride to Claines, just north of Worcester.
Today was a stunningly warm and sunny February day over 16 degrees again.
The peloton was split into two groups, 5 in the first with Joan C leading the second tranche,
Standard way to Barnt Green then down a rarely used land past Little Heath GC with elevenses near the old Barnsley Hall hospital where just as the first group were finishing - and were averting their eyes as Stratford Bob changed into his shorts - the second phalanx arrived. Bob decided to join them to be "sociable".
Onwards through Bournheath, Dodford, Cooksey Green and Ombsersley before finally heading south to the Mug House pub arriving at 12.57 with an average of 13.8 - sorry about that. New member Derrick was happy though, so that's alright. As we finished an excellent plate of ham, egg and chips with a pint of Wainwright's, which was far better than last week's the "other" peloton arrived at 1.35 although there had been a mechanical for Rob T, due to over-fettling no doubt.
Back towards Tardebigge the Captain sent Stratford Bob off down what he thought was a short cut to Plough Lane and thence Tibberton. Unfortunately it was via ploughed field and a bike-unfriendly stile - sorry Bob.
The rest continued via SE Droitwich, Gaudet Luce Golf Club, Hanbury Upper Bentley and Tardebigge.
Apologies for the "slightly" quicker pace than normal but your Captain assures you all he'll be slower next time!
