The Famous Five set off in glorious weather to Lower Broadheath for a F&F ride. As the peleton was making swift progress the Captain took the popular decision to have 10.15es at chez Captain. Four Americanos and a latte later we set off again. Routing via Upper Bentley, Hanbury, Droitwich and Claines. Unfortunately the preferred route via Bevere Lane was impassable due to a total road closure. The Captain using local knowledge of a myriad of back streets led the group through Worcester to Sabrina Bridge for late elevenses. Up into St John's and then to The Bell for 12.15. Average speed to lunch was 15.7mph.

Lunch and beer later we set off via Hallow and Grimley (where the Capatin could not find his preferred route and removed half a point accordingly) to Holt Fleet to re-cross the Severn.

Many grassy lanes later via Uphampton, Dovedale, Wychbold Stoke Prior and Upper Bently the Captain bade farewell to the others. Just short of 70 miles with an average of15.1 and a new 25-mile record somewhere en route of 16.7mph for me.
