There were two of us set off from the Red Lion for the Sunday all day run to the great Western at Bewdley. We went through Astwood Bank, Wychbold and stopped for elevenses just before Hartlebury. Skirting round Stourport we took cycle route 45 down through the woods at Blackstone to drop into Bewdley and fortunately the pub was open just before 12 to welcome us. Dennis joined us for lunch and he and Andy deciding it was not hot enough went for the chili pork pie and extolled its virtues. Leaving the pub I decided it was too hot to do the climb up to Jacobs Ladder and took the B4190 all the way to Wolverley instead. A loop through Clent saw the three of us enjoying an ice cream in Belbroughton as I was suffering in the heat and the other two were suffering from chili pork pie! From there it was back to the Coach and another chance to rehydrate and catch up on the world cup. 70 miles for me.
